MetaMask does not hold the security token itself. The token stays on-chain, and MetaMask acts as the secure wallet that stores access credentials, signs approvals, and proves control of the wallet address tied to the investor's ONCHAINID.

Private-key control
The wallet signs transactions locally, so transfer approvals and purchase steps stay under the holder's control.
ONCHAINID enforcement
Even with wallet access, ERC-3643 rules still require a verified ONCHAINID and compliance approval before execution.
Encrypted local storage
MetaMask keeps wallet credentials encrypted on the device or mobile app, and hardware wallets can be added for stronger custody.
